The Catholic Defender: Ridin The Storm Out

"A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. They woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing"? He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Quiet! Be still"! The wind ceased and there was great calm"(Mark 4:37-39).

Sometimes it feels like life is a series of storms. We know the Lord can calm the storm, yet sometimes the Lord tells us that his grace is sufficient.

This Spring early summer we have seen some really bad weather, please keep those in prayer who have been most impacted due to these storms.

Sometimes these storms might be something that other people might have impacted your life.

A marriage might be in trouble, children are affected, a close family member or friend might have suffered a great loss.

No matter what the problem might be, Jesus can always calm the storm. Sometimes we must ride the storm out. We got to hook up our ship and dock it to the Church who will help us through the storms of life.

With Mary, Our Mother, she offers a Motherly protection. Padre Pio called the rosary the weapon.

deepertruth wants to encourage you to hang tough and not give up. Things can be tough, no question about it.

The Lord established His Church to help us through the storms.

He is with you through it all. The Song, "Be Not Afraid" reminds us that Jesus is with us through the stormy sea of life.

That was my theme song when I went to Korea for a year. No matter what you might have done, Jesus will forgive you.

No matter where you are, Jesus is right there with you. He calls you and wants you to visit Him at Mass. May the Lord bless you and keep you and protect you all the days of your life!
