October 24 is my Son, Joshua's birthday and so I want to send a very happy birthday to Joshua, whom I am very proud. He was born one day after his Uncle Randy survived a terrorist blast in Beirut Lebanon on 23 October 1983.
He was baptized Catholic after the Feast of All Saints Day on November 1, 1983.
He was Confirmed in the Catholic Church shortly after I returned from the Gulf War in 1991.
By the time he was six years old he was able to run a six minute mile.
He had always been a great athlete, he certainly takes much from his Father's side of the Family!
Joshua was born in Barryville Arkansas and when I joined the Army, he was old enough to remember some of my early Military travels.
We moved to Hinesville George when I was stationed at Fort Stewart Georgia in 1985.
In 1986, we moved to Germany for three years and so much of Joshua's early childhood was in Germany.
He was always wanting to play soccer when his older Brother, Nathan had games.
It was a joy to see Joshua playing with a ball almost as big as he was!
Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
I am so proud of you Joshua, your doing well in College and will not be that far from accomplishing a most important goal in your life.
As always I will encourage you to discover and root yourself in your holy Catholic Faith.
I love you Joshua, happy Birthday.
