The Catholic Defender: Stand For Life

Folks, it is that time of year when people will put on their marching shoes and go pray at the Abortion facilities.

This is good because "40 Days For Life" has done a lot of good to get people to think about what abortion is.

It feels good when you have people out there all day long to stand for life.

I see people out with their rosaries and prayer books to pray and meditate.

This is American freedom to be able to assemble and take a stand for life.

Our Priest spoke of how important it was for him to have gone out there on the front line.

I think it is even more important for him to go there for the sake of the people out there.

This particular lazy day, I had the opportunity to come out to the Abortion Clinic in Killeen Texas where I prayed the Rosary and the Divine Mercy.

This day was a slow day, there was only two of us out there but I felt it mattered not.

I positioned myself with my cross and stood up where I was most visible to those driving by.

What a great feeling it is to get people honking their horns giving you the thumbs up sign and waving towards you.

That is a great encouragement. Often I will have people stop and pray with me because they are affected by our witness.

That means a lot! This day, one person stopped to thank me for taking a stand for life.

He wanted to share his story with me and I was eager to listen as I waved on to the traffic passing by.

Another Lady parked in the parking lot behind me and was taking pictures of me.

I didn't know she was there initially, but I had that feeling that someone was watching me from the back so I stopped and turned around and there she was.

She then got out of her car and brought her camera wanting to take some pictures.

She was Norwegian traveling the United States and was simply driving by and saw me with the cross.

This Lady actually took these pictures I have for this article! I encouraged her to be safe and enjoy her traveling our Country.

One of my Daughter-In-Laws (Szilvia) is leaving the United States today for Hungary.

Her Mother is in the Hospital and it is important for her to go home and see her Mother.

My wife Gigi is still watching the grandchildren in Washington State so I am still on my own for another couple of weeks.

Another lady came by with her son and saw me and then stopped to tell me her story.

She told me the sad truth that she had two abortions when she was younger. That is still affected her deeply.

I was able to encourage her and was glad that she stopped to talk to me. She told me how important her faith was to her.

This is very important, in fact, a most important message of 40 Days for Life.

That a woman needs that healing for inner peace. That Jesus will forgive her.

That is the mission of the Church, to liberate the captives and set them free in Christ.

Even on a lazy day, you can still get a lot of things done just by being available!

The Catholic Defender: United We Stand II

What a joy it is to participate and see young people becoming active in their Catholic Faith.

We have seen the growing, swelling numbers of young people taking part in the prolife movement all across the United States.

This helps keep a guy like me to stay young just to keep up with them. They are the future of the Church!

I want to leave to them a strong vibrant Church full of life in it's witness to the world.

The Late Great Pope John Paul II really did much to get the ball rolling and Pope Benedict had done well in keeping the fire burning.  Today, Pope Francis holds the Chair of Peter and we see how the media wants to twist everything he does.  We need to stand fast and be accountable to stand up for what is right.

The following is something that our Priest, Fr. Downey wrote to inspire the faithful:

Dear Brothers & Sisters, Now that the two major political parties have had their conventions and we are coming into the final leg of the presidential election season, it is important that we seriously consider who we plan to vote for.

To be a responsible citizen, one must be actively engaged (much like those out on the sidewalk with me this day) in ascertaining facts about each candidate and what positions they take regarding issues our country is currently facing.

Withdrawing and having a general sense of apathy is not only irresponsible, but could lead to the forfeiting of a fundamental right guaranteed by the 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Voting should never be based on a popularity contest or the promotion of a certain interest group, but rather on our moral convictions.

Such convictions should be rooted in a well-informed conscience which we, the Catholic faithful, must strive for throughout the course of our lives.

Human reason elevated by the revelation of Christ through His Church are means by which we form our conscience.

The Catholic Church is the voice of Christ to the nations, the Church is the city shining on a hill. We are staging at an important time in history. The ability to proclaim the truth in the information age needs to be implimented.

All across the United States, people are participating with the "40 Days For Life" in every major city and location where there is an abortion clinic.

But it can't stop here, our vote this coming Novemeber is so important, the upcoming battle for the Senate will be very important.

Especially for us who believe in the traditional family unit.

Just look at what has happened the past seven years since Prince Harry Ried has become the Senate Majority Leader.

Through the Church and the people of good will, we must stand united for life. This is our calling for this generation.

The Catholic Defender: I Am Prolife

I want to thank my close and good friend, Secret Agent Man (deepertruth's "Guardian Angel") for his trusting me and asking me to participate in this effort to stop abortion.

It has been a great honor to have played a role in this event.

Recently, while at an abortion clinic in Arizona, partly through efforts of The Guardian Angel, another baby was saved from certain extermination.

This past week I was at an abortion clinic and we had one Mother who listened to us and hopefully will not have an abortion. If you would like to hear my speech at Jefferson City Missouri, you can listen it here:

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much, I beg of you to spare the life of the unborn child, whom I have spiritually adopted.

The Catholic Defender: Planting the Culture of Life

It is important for the Catholic Church to be that city on the hill.

This is the responsibility that the Lord mandates for the Church. To be that moral compass that all can see. Today, the family is quickly becoming more like an endangered species than a vibrant institution founded by God.

People are more and more becoming so into themselves, it's becoming harder to find people who do make a difference. There are still great people, but things seem to be getting worse.

This coming Novemeber, we have a chance to make a difference through the power to vote. It is my prayer that we turn this nation around back to the foundations that made this Country what it was.

By getting back on our knees and repenting for the many sins that cry to heaven every day. Think about this, there have been nearly 60,000,000 abortions since 1973 in the United States.

No telling how many lives have been changed forever because they made a wrong decision. It is an evil age that has allowed the innocent to suffer like they have.

Legislation is important right now to help us get back on the right azmuth, but what we need is a change of the heart.

To change the minds of people who have been dormant for so long. The heart of recovery is the awakening of the family.

To bring back a respect for human dignity and life. Pope John Paul II use to preach the importance of every human life.

He preached the Culture of life, he lived it. We have his example to follow.

Pope Benedict XVI has maintained the key points to restoring the family. Our leaders can't do it alone, it is going to take all of us to turn things around.

It's going to take a sleeping giant to awaken and get activated. The present Administration attacking the Catholic Faith might be a blessing in disguise, people have become fired up as the threat of losing their freedoms become a reality.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the upcoming months. I think that there will be alot of mud slinging trying to get us off focus.

The good news seems to be showing that a lot of people are getting involved. People are coming out to participate for the first time standing up for their rights.

The rights of the unborn is an God given right to life. We become the hands of the Lord when we do his will, we become his feet when we go where he wants us to go. We become his voice when we proclaim the gospel.

Despite how bad it seems to be getting, we are still being blessed as long as we strive to do his will.

We are in a battle for the youth, those who one day will be the leaders for tomorrow. We want to be able to hand the keys to the next generation.

1 Corinthians 13:

"If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love."
