On Tuesday evening at 7:00 Eastern, 6:00 Central, the Ross and Margie show, "The Catholic Roundtable" will respond to the anti-Catholic attacks of John J Farina.

Apparently, Mr. Farina loves to proclaim falsehoods about the Catholic Church, yet he refuses open debate with informed Catholics.
He preys upon the ignorance of people and this is a very sad thing. This is probably the most important tactic utilized by anti-Catholics because they do not like to be held to the truth.
They are infamously known for using the "scatter-gun technique" which is their means to not addressing an issue at hand. To simply keep throwing out their falsehoods trying to keep you busy. They can not nor will not stand on an issue.
Mr. Farina is a stark contrast to what Deepertruth have done in the past. We sought to give the Anti-Catholic every opportunity to raise a debate; we have had neutral participants who acted as referees in our debates, we made sure that each person was able to bring their points and counter points, they were afforded the ability to respond equally.
I want the Anti-Catholic to do their best so that when the debate is completed, there is a record for all to see.
When they want to attack using known forgeries, misconceptions, outright lies, we respond to those for all to see. This is why Mr. Farina will not allow informed Catholics to respond on his Facebook page. He loves to go to Catholics sites to pick a fight, but when they fire back he blocks them.
That is not only cowardly, but it is like raising your hands in victory playing before your own crowd. He appeases those who are already disposed to the anti-Catholic attacks as they will lift him up like a true warrior for God. In actuality, he is no more than a fluttering duck, much like a poorly thrown football barely crossing the line of scrimmage.
Lets take a few samples of what he is saying. This first example is just a little earlier today.
"Imagine, little old me will have Catholics praying and fasting for me, and I will be the topic of a Catholic radio show to discuss my 'errors'........if you click the link, you will see my full name (I am NOT happy about that, but if it gets Catholics to come to me, fine.....I will deal with it)......."
Mr. Farina, the object is not to bring to you Catholics so you can eat them up, but rather, to expose your falsehood. The bible says much about those who would strive to lead people away from the Faith.
Consider Deuteronomy 18:20, "But if a prophet presumes to speak in my name an oracle that I have not commanded him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, he shall die."
Catholics, this text ends with this message, "If you say to yourselves, how can we recognize an oracle which the Lord has spoken, know that, even though a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if his oracle is not fulfilled or verified, it is an oracle which the Lord did not speak. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously and you shall have no fear of him."
Ah, but perhaps Mr. Farina might say that is an Old Testament passage, that means nothing to me. Well, for us Catholics this is important, but for those who might be Mr. Farina fans, let me continue:
"Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen"
This is a charge for the Catholic Faith, which Christ sent to the nations to Baptize and teach. But with this there is a warning, "There were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who ransomed them, bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their licentious ways, and because of them the way of truth will be reviled" (2 Peter 2:1-2).
Here is a statement of Mr Farina, "The Vatican knows this. That's why is was a death sentence to own a Bible for so long. Yup, burned ALIVE for even owning a Bible. Even today, it's discouraged. Catholics OWN Bibles, but they don't READ them."
In looking at his Facebook page, it is filled with such things and even worse as it is filled with such rhetoric.
Here is what the Catholic Church states concerning the Bible: The Sacred Scriptures contain the Word of God and, since they are inspired, really are the Word of God... This sacred Synod (Vatican II) urges all the Christian faithful to learn by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures the "excelling knowledge of Jesus Christ." "For ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ."
Therefore, they should gladly put themselves in touch with the sacred text itself...
And let them remember that prayer should accompany the reading of Sacred Scripture, so that God and man may talk together; for "we speak to him when we pray; we hear him when we read the divine saying: (Second Vatican Council: Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation)
BTW, just going to daily Mass Catholics go through the Bible once every two years, twice every three years with the Sunday/Holy Day Mass. And Catholics are receiving a whole lot of bible. Far more than most if not all other Services.
Was it wrong to hold onto heretic bibles, well, in the word of Mr. Farina, "yep", the bibles should be burned. Not many people in Protestantism is trying to resurrect those heretical bibles. The Jehovah's Witnesses today is a good example. What Mr. Farina is confusing is the heresy of false doctrines which was being espoused by the heretics of the 15th century. There is a difference between civil law and canon law. Listen in tomorrow night!
Just looking at Mr. Farina's Facebook page again, there is so many examples so the show tomorrow night will be great. I am really amazed that anyone of a sound mind could take him seriously?
I do have one more point to raise just to show Mr. Farina's hatred for the Catholic Faith. The following is an example of a flying duck:
Arlene Michelle Hey Johnny...there's an OLPH church just around the block...come on - meet me tonight and we'll TP the Mary statue out front! (iI've always wanted to do that...as well as knock that Dagon hat off the Poop...)

Arlene Michelle Actually, I'm surprised there are so many here. In fact, given the street names around that church, I'm lucky I didn't end up buying a house on Madonna St., Notre Dame Ave., or any one of the many streets named after "Mary" or "s
Arlene Michelle BTW, you know what I used to do when I lived in NYC? Go to the various Catholic churches and insert Chick tracts into the Catholic booklets they had for sale on racks at the back, or into the "missals" in the pews.
Slipping "This Was Your Life" into porn mags when I went to the store to buy puzzle books was fun too!

What Mr. Farina is in effect doing is vandalism, destruction of private property. But lets play their game for a moment. Dagon was the god of the Philistines, an image of a half man half fish that Sampson destroyed in their Temple. So Mr. Farina considers himself a "Sampson" figure. "The Poop" is a shameful attack on the Pope. This is basically an attack on the use of statues. Mr. Farina falsely accuses Catholics of worshiping statues.
Jack Chick is a notorious liar in his own right.
Christianity Today, a Protestant magazine exposed Chick Comics as being filled with falsehoods.
Alberto Rivera, one of Jack Chick's characters, claimed to have been ordained a Catholic Priest in Madrid Spain and then sent to Brazil to undermine Protestant churches.
It was discovered that while Rivera claimed to be ordained a Priest, he was actually married with two children in a Protestant seminary in the Caribbean.
It was all a fraud.
