The Springfield Missouri Marian Conference held this past October 26-27th was a most enriching experience for several hundred faithful coming from the surrounding area.
The event was sponsored by the Marian Association of Southern Missouri headed by Father Vincent Bertrand (Deepertruth Chaplain) and Dr. Gregory Thompson.
I flew up to Springfield Missouri flying from Killeen Texas to Dallas and finally to Springfield.
I had the opportunity to meet Country and Western Singer Charley Pride and some of his band who also flew to Springfield Missouri for a concert.
While still waiting for my luggage at the Springfield airport, I found myself speaking with missionaries from Nicaragua and gave them a couple of my brochures I had on hand. I wanted to ensure they heard a strong defense for the Catholic Faith.
Dr. Gregory Thompson met me at the Springfield airport and quickly took me to Mercy Hospital formerly known as St. Johns to go to a quick Mass.
The Hospital Chapel was by far the most beautiful church I've seen in a hospital location.
I went to Confession immediately following the Mass so I was able to receive two Sacraments before the weekend actually began.
What a blessing this was for me. Dr. Thompson and I would then go to where we were staying the next few day to drop off my luggage.
I was glad to have been able to help with last second preparations for the weekend conference. We set up a table Friday for Deepertruth and actually conducted our Friday Evening Radio (Evangelization) show live from the Church.
I interviewed John Carpenter from Branson Missouri who has a lot of study on Marian Apparitions.
John will be joining Deepertruth sharing much of his research which is extremely interesting.
If you have a devotion to Our Lady, you will most certainly enjoy the wealth of information John has uncovered.
St. Joseph's Radio taped the whole two days of speakers and events for the conference and so everything will have both DVD and CD's available. There were really good speakers both days of the Conference.
There were always Priests on hand to hear Confessions and many people took advantage of that and went to Confession. The Bishop was on hand starting off the Conference celebrating Mass with the 4th degree Knights of Columbus in full dress. That was very colorful.
There was one room set up with devotion to authentic relics of the Saints, from the true cross to St. Francis of Assisi. That was a real blessing as well.
There were good response from those who came to the Marian Conference.
It was a great opportunity to hear good quality speakers on many Marian subjects all of which were Catholic based.
People already are looking forward to the next Marian Conference to be held next year. To have this kind of success in the middle of the Bible belt is a very encouraging happening. The Catholic Church continues to grow which is a great sign.
This coming week I will be flying to Springfield Missouri to participate in the second annual Marian Conference.
What a great opportunity this is to meet so many people who will be coming from many parts of Missouri and Arkansas.

There is no cost for the event and it all begins with registering beginning at 7:15 A.M. followed by Coffee and donuts. The Rosary begins at 8:00 A.M. We have a lot of great speakers and topics that will be highly interesting.

I was meditating on something that St. John writes in Revelation 12:17. He states, "Then the dragon went off to wage war against the rest of her (Mary's) offspring..."
Now at first glance, who are these offspring that St. John is speaking of? Could this be James, Joses, Judas, and Simon (Mark 6:4)? No, it wouldn't specifically refer to them because these Brothers were actually cousins of Jesus, close relatives who were regarded as brothers.
Then who are these offspring of Mary that St. John is speaking of? St. John answers this question himself continues writing, "those who keep God's Commandments and bear witness to Jesus".
King David actually writes of this in the Psalms in a state of prophecy he writes referring to Jesus "You love justice and hate wrongdoing; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellow kings." This is a description of Jesus who King David recognized as "God". He did not have the revelation of the Trinity so he uses language to show his understanding, "therefore God, your God" refers to the relationship between the Father and the Son.
Then Psalms 45 takes a turn from this anointed one to a Queen. Psalms 45:10 refers to the Queen arrayed in Ophir's gold who comes to stand at your right hand. This is important in identifying who this Queen really is.
1 Kings 2:12-20 gives the story of Bathsheba who was the mother of King Solomon. King Solomon in the middle of council, when his mother appeared to see him, Solomon stood up to meet her and paid her homage (honor). Then he sat down upon his throne, and a throne was provided for the king's mother, who sat AT HIS RIGHT HAND.
The Queen spoken of by King David in Psalms 45 is the Mother of the anointed one whom David called "God". Of this Queen, David writes, "The throne of your fathers YOUR Sons will have; you shall make them princes through all the land."
Those "sons" that David is speaking to are the same "offspring" that St. John is speaking to. Who are they? "Those who keep God's Commandments and bear witness to Jesus", this includes us!
While serving as the NCO of one of the Fort Campbell Troop Medical Clinics, I was in the pharmacy when during sick call one morning when this stranger shows up to the front desk. He was looking for me in particular and wanted to challenge me about Mother Mary.
I did not know this gentleman nor had I ever seen him before, but he obviously has me in his sights. He asked the room full of people waiting to be seen where he could find me. I stuck my head through the window bars at the pharmacy to see what was going on.
When he wanted to challenge me about Mary, I quickly took him to the side and instructed him to go to his car and I would be out there in about 15 minutes until I was able to get a quick break.
This stranger quickly went out the back door to the parking lot. I did not want this happening where my physical physician or Doc would come out wondering what was happening here. Some of those on sick call thought I had brought this guy in for entertainment.
I did go out to speak with him and from his bible, I showed him how Mary was his mother and that following weekend, he was going to Sunday Mass with us!
This coming October 13, Deepertruth is sponsoring a Marian Conference along with "The Marian Association of Springfield/Cape Girardeau" in Springfield Missouri.
What an opportunity for the Catholic Church to make a statement in the face of the political will in the city to accept Gay marriage and the Gay Agenda.
Dr. Gregory Thompson has spoken before the City Council gaining much support from the community causing frustration for the Gay organizers.
What is taking place in Springfield Missouri is important because the ultra left are seeking a foothold in middle America.
The Catholic Church and others of good will need to come together to stand for traditional marriage.
October 13 is important to me because it reminds me of Our Lady of Fatima's message from heaven, to pray the Rosary for the conversion of sinners.
This certainly clashes with the modern day American society that is under attack. As we move closer to the October 13th Event, Deepertruth will continue to promote and give information to the Marian Conference.

Russell was fasely accused of a crime he didn't committ and he served 25 years in prison until just recently when he won back his freedom.
The conviction was overturned after 25 years. He is planning to join us next Friday, here on the deepertruth radio probram.
