The Guardian Angel: Chastisement

As we watch what is happening all around the world and this country, we continue to think that is them, and we are different -- those things will not touch us.
Ezekiel 35:6: "Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you."
...it sickens me to say it, because of my children and grandchildren and those of my neighbors and friends, but when it rains, it will rain on the good and the bad. We will see famine and hunger like never before as the numbers will grow of those that do not have*** we will see blood in the streets*** we will see government taking away our last vestiges of freedom ...yet we continue to sleep and think that because we are Americans, we can pull it out, even at the last moment...
Preparing people in spirit, mind, and body will be the only thing that will help them get through the tribulations that are coming. ... HE will bring a great chastisement on a nation to put them to their knees to look to HIM instead of themselves. Has God gotten to a point in the past where HE will not listen***
Isaiah 1:15: "When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood."
Amen to every word, Guardian Angel!
The truth is that we have not truly hated bloodshed -- or any other form of wickedness. We have only very selectively perceived it and very selectively disapproved of it, and remained silent when our friends and allies engaged in it, as they remained silent in turn for us.
Two great quotes from Tom Hoefling's blog:
"Brethren, our preaching will bear its legitimate fruits. If immorality prevails in the land, the fault is ours in a great degree. If there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the public press lacks moral discrimination, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the church is degenerate and worldly, the pulpit is responsible for it. If the world loses its interest in religion, the pulpit is responsible for it. If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it. If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it."
-- Charles G. Finney, Dec 4, 1873

"A day of grace is yet held out to us. Both North and South have been guilty before God; and the Christian church has a heavy account to answer. Not by combining together, to protect injustice and cruelty, and making a common capital of sin, is this Union to be saved,--but by repentance, justice and mercy; for, not surer is the eternal law by which the millstone sinks in the ocean, than that stronger law, by which injustice and cruelty shall bring on nations the wrath of Almighty God!" -- Harriet Beecher Stowe, Uncle Tom's Cabin
