2 Thessalonians: 1 And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him:
2 That
you be not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by
spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle, as sent from us, as if the day of
the Lord were at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,
4 Who
opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as
if he were God.
5 Remember you not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
The revolt Paul speaks of here is Protestantism. The so-called Reformers (who were actually deformers), broke from legitimate Christianity in the early 16th century. Unlike Satan's other heresies, Protestantism was quite cleverly devised in that it targets man greatest weakness- Pride- directly and, in doing so, makes each person right in his own eyes. As the consequent splintering and splintering continue, more and more protestant groups grow ever further from the Theological core. Many of them are so adrift that they can no longer plausibly be called Christians.
Calling Protestants- of any stripe- Christians is to use the loosest definition of the term. That is, that they claim a belief in and worship of Jesus Christ. No Protestants actually engage in complete, proper worship though many combine some of the elements of worship such as prayer and fasting and a few, even have a liturgy (though a false one).
None of the many doctrines of protestantism are Biblical and none can be found anywhere in church history, from 1517 backwards.
The Doctrines of Protestantism are clearly refuted by the plain text of Scripture. The Doctrine of Sola Fide (faith alone) is clearly refuted by James 2:24 and scores of other passages. Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone) is struck down by 2 Thessalonians 2:15 and many more scriptures. Once saved, always saved makes a mockery of 2 Peter 2:21-22. The rejection of the Eucharist and the necessity of Baptism and Confession are all struck down by the plain words of Scripture and every Catholic doctrine from the Trinity, to the Immaculate Conception are upheld by those same Sacred texts.
Unfortunately, most protestants are very lazy when it comes to studious Scripture study. Most learn maybe 2 or 3 dozen verses of "proof texts" that they wrench from their context and use to support their abominable doctrines.
That is why it is Protestantism, not Catholicism that has fallen prey to the world. Contraception, abortion, homosexuality. One by one, it is the Protestant churches and cults that are- like so many dominoes- falling to these sinful vices. Even the so-called sex abuse scandal that has rocked the Catholic church is dwarfed by the fact that a protestant minister is TEN TIMES as likely to offend as a Catholic Priest. (Study by Protestant Dr. Phillip Jenkins, Penn State University.) In public schools, the number is even TEN FOLD more (as the recent Penn State tragedy shows).
Protestant is really a form of religious atheism.
Colossians 2:22-23
22 ( referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? 23 These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.
2 Timothy 3:5
Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.
Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.
That is why it should come as no surprise that there are no miracles in Protestantism and countless miracles in Catholicism. Man made the former, God made the latter.
Of course, Protestants will be quick to point out that antichrist will work wonders as well. That is true. Yet, all of antichrist's miracles are counterfeits of the real deal. For instance, the Bible tells us that antichrist will call down fire from heaven to deceive. Yet Moses and Elijah also called fire down from heaven and all of the apostles performed miracles.
Protestants claim miracles ended with the apostles. They have to. There are no miracles in protestantism because they don't believe. Yet miracles in Catholicism have never ceased, from when it was founded in 33 AD, even to this day. In fact, in just the last few days, a proclamation of a miracle due to the intercession of the late Fulton Sheen.
These miracles prove that Catholic saints are in heaven. Whether any protestants are in heaven or not can only be a matter of conjecture. Although I certainly hold to the hope and firm belief that some protestants can, and will be, saved, the fact remains that only a devout Catholic can be certain of salvation. That is not because Catholics are any holier, by nature, than non-catholics (How I wish it were so). It is because Catholics, by virtue of being in communion with the one true faith, have access to the Sacraments which are the true and ordinary means of receiving Grace, unto salvation. Scripture proves this in no uncertain terms.
Baptism:
1 Peter 3:21
Whereunto baptism being of the like form, now saveth you also: not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the examination of a good conscience towards God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Confession
John 20:22-23
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.
Holy Eucharist
John 6
54 Then
Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh
of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.
55 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.
56 For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed.
57 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.
Extreme Unction
James 5:14
Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in the priests of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Holy Orders
1 Timothy 4:14
Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood.
Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood.
To deny this is to call God a liar and that is a very bad idea. As you can see by the last one, Grace is in Timothy as a result of his holy orders and that grace ought not be neglected. Those who claim that Grace is simply "unmerited favor" Sure look silly when viewing these passages. Grace is a substance, if you will. It is a participation in the Divinity of Christ. Not that you become Divine, far from it. That Grace, purchased at Calvary, is infused in you and cleanses your sin. The church dispenses that Grace, at Jesus command.
2 Corinthians 8:19
And not that only, but he was also ordained by the churches companion of our travels, for this grace, which is administered by us, to the glory of the Lord, and our determined will:
And not that only, but he was also ordained by the churches companion of our travels, for this grace, which is administered by us, to the glory of the Lord, and our determined will:
So, you cut yourself off from the font of Grace, you endanger your own soul. Jesus said of His Church, "He who hears you, hears me. He who rejects you rejects me" (Luke 10:16)
Those who reject the Catholic Church reject Christ. It is just that simple.
Only in light of all this can Ephesians 2:8-10 be properly understood. These verses do not purport, as some wrongly insist, that salvation is a free gift from God. It says no such thing.
8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God;
9 Not of works, that no man may glory.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.
It refers to Grace, the thing by which you are saved.
Faith refers to the means by which you freely receive that Grace
Good Works refer to the purpose of that Grace, prepared by God, which we are expected to carry out.
So what is Paul saying? Very simple Grace is a free gift of God received by those who have faith (Catholics). It is NOT the result of your good works, thus, there can be no cause for boasting. It is, however, for the purpose of good works, that you are expected to accomplish.
So Ephesians 2:8-10 in no wise equals free salvation. That is a gross perversion of the text. These verses mean that Grace is free, if someone is in faith, but that faith must be cooperated with. Protestantism is lazy religion that doesn't want to see this.
To the extent that a Protestant is earnestly seeking the truth and fails to find full communion with the Catholic church through no fault of their own, they can possibly receive Grace by extraordinary means such as a baptism of desire. On the other hand, those who fail to find Catholicism to to vanity or laziness, will be lost in the eternal fires of hell. That is the sad and sobering reality but it is a fact.
Protestantism has no root in Biblical Christianity. Therefore, to become a TRUE "born-again, Bible believing Christian", you have to become a Catholic. In remaining a Protestant, the best you can hope for is to find your way to being as little of a heretic as possible. All protestants are material heretics though some are that way simply because they don't know any better. Apostolates like Deepertruth attempt to reach those people.
On the other hand, remaining in protestantism is just as likely to take you in the other direction- a never-ending, hellward spiral of aberrant doctrine, vanity and the reviling of glorious beings (Jude v8).
Eventually this current drags them inexorably towards the coming antichrist, a false Jewish Messiah who proudly flies the satanic hexagram (the mark of the beast) on his flag of the false Israel. The common misconception is that the Pentagram is the highest symbol of the occult. That is false. The hexagram is. With it's 6 points, 6 triangles and 6 inner sides, it is the perfect pictorial depiction of the number of the beast- 666. Called the "star of david", and displayed on the flag of "Israel". The fact is that this symbol has no root back to David or Israel but is prominently used in Islam and Satanism. Isn't ironic that so-called Christians proudly display Satan's royal seal on their websites?
These have bought, hook, line and sinker, into man-made dispensationalist and Zionist lies from those who say they are Jews but are really the Synagogue of Satan (Rev 2:9, 3:9) Rejecting the Catholic church is a very dangerous thing and can eventually get you tattooed with a mark that will wind you up in a very, very, very hot place. I invite you to leave your false protestant, fast-food, easy way out religion and become a REAL Christian. Go see a Catholic Priest today!
